Basic bus shelter on the Av. Isla Vista (resort hotel district in San Juan)  Picture & text by C. Hobbs.

A closer look at a San Juan Puerto Rico bus stop. Most feature a green sign reading "Parada" (Stop), plus one or more smaller orange signs with the route number and basic schedule information. This is a stop on Avienda Isla Verde, near the resort hotels, and is served by the #A5 bus route to Old San Juan.  Picture & text by C. Hobbs.

An even closer view of the bus stop sign.  For bus pictures, and more details about the AMA (San Juan's transit service) visit: http://www.lerctr.org/~transit/sju2001.html  Picture & text by C. Hobbs.

A fancy concrete bus shelter, near Av. Isla Verde and Av. Gobernadores. From here, you can transfer from the #A5 to the #B40 and #C45, both of which serve the nearby international airport. Think of the difference between $1 in bus fare and $8 for a cab...  Picture & text by C. Hobbs.

Some stops are very simple, such as this one in the Llanos Torres housing project. It's just a pole with the word "Parada" (Bus Stop) on it, sort of like what San Francisco Muni does in certain residential neighborhoods....  Picture & text by C. Hobbs.
