Bus Stop

San Diego Transit

All of transit in San Diego comes under the umbrella of the San Diego Metropolitan Transit Development Board (MTDB).  All bus stop signs, no matter who the carrier(s) may be who serve that stop, look identical and do not indicate the carrier, just the route number.  (In one case, San Diego Transit operates Route 13 during the weekdays and a contractor (under the San Diego Metropolitan Transit System moniker) operates evening and weekend service).

A few agencies do direction signs, but MTS Route 916 must be especially troublesome for new drivers…saw no less than 20 of these along the way.  Picture & Text by Mark S.

MTS is also a stop adoption agency. Not very common, though not a new program (saw a few along Route 901 south of Coronado a couple Octobers ago)  Picture & text by Mark S.
